Mike
Whittaker
Mike worked for a number of years in key posts in
manufacturing gaining experience in all aspects of the HR
role. Subsequently
as a consultant he has worked with key clients such as BAE
Systems, DSS, Northern Foods and Vodafone. As an author he
has focussed on change, coaching and mentoring and has co-written
3 manuals all published by Gower,”32 Activities on Coaching
and Mentoring, “The Mentoring Manual” and “50
Activities for achieving change.”
Mike has run a wide
range of development programmes on subjects such as leadership,
team development, coaching and mentoring
and presentation skills providing follow up to people requiring
support as their organisations experience periods of rapid
change. In addition he has worked closely with organisations
whose employees have needed career management/outplacement
support as a result of downsizing or re-structuring.
Mike
sees working closely with others as an opportunity to increase
his own personal awareness and development.
Recent
experience in career management has convinced him of the
importance of enabling others to recognise their own individual
skills
and qualities and to achieve goals that they may have
considered to be unattainable.
